Acquisitions Librarian, Buffalo State College

Position: Acquisitions Librarian

Buffalo State College, Buffalo, New York

Compensation and benefits: Competitive salary.

Description: Buffalo State College is accepting applications for an acquisitions
librarian at faculty rank and status.

Responsibilities: Acquisitions librarian, tenure track, uses best
practices; works with vendors and consortia for purchasing; employs
collection development principles; evidences familiarity with
cataloging practices; effectively and efficiently manages daily
operations of department; coordinates order and receipt of materials
in print, digital, and electronic formats, and manages associated
expenditures.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited
library program; two years’ professional acquisitions experience in an
academic setting; experience with an integrated library system
relating to acquisitions functions; demonstrated knowledge of library
acquisitions best practices.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Aleph500 acquisitions
functions; computer skills with regard to managing budgets, fund
accounting, and statistics; experience managing electronic resources;
collection development experience; subject specialty; faculty/library
liaison experience; cataloging experience. Strong organizational and
interpersonal skills.
