Description: Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh, New York seeks an experienced academic librarian for the position of Director of the LeRoy M. Douglas Sr. Library. The director is responsible for the overall administration of the library including planning, development, implementation, operations, and assessment. The college seeks candidates who can advance the mission of the library to provide the college community access to the information, services, and environments needed to strengthen teaching and learning. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of library trends and technologies, and the initiative and commitment to effectively assess and apply them.Master's Degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited college or university required. Minimum of 5 years professional experience in an academic setting, with progressive responsibility. Minimum of 3 years management and supervisory experience in an academic setting. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to lead in a collaborative environment and a commitment to shared decision-making. Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and project management skills. Demonstrated responsiveness to the needs of students, faculty and staff. Knowledge and implementation of current and emerging technologies and their application to library services. Understanding of concepts, techniques and tools related to instruction. Teaching experience preferred.
